Phonte -The Life Of Kings Ft Evidence & Big K.R.I.T. (prod. by 9th Wonder)

Another track from Phonte’s ‘Charity Starts At Home’ which hits stores Sept 27th. It got dope featuring’s, a nice beat and tight lines what more do you want?

9th Wonder ft. Phonte & Median – Band Practice Pt 2

9th releases the first single of his upcoming (and long over due)  album The Wonder Years. I’ve been waiting awhile now for The Wonder Years so I’m real excited for it and if the album sounds like Band Practice Pt. 2, then I’ve got nothing to worry about. The Wonder Years out due Sept 27th.

Phonte ft. King Mez & Charlie Smarts (of Kooley High) – In The 336

The Dropouts presents “In the 336″ featuring King Mez, Phonte, Charlie Smarts & produced by Wan. Off the upcoming album L.S.D.

Phonte ft. Elzhi – Not Here Anymore (Prod. by 9th Wonder)

2 of my favorite emcees on one of my favorite producers beat. It’s not one of the best tracks from all three of them but I like it. Not Here Anymore is off Tigallo’s upcoming solo album Charity Starts At Home, which is due September 27th.

Track of the Night : The Foreign Exchange – Daykeeper ft. Muhsinah

Rapper / Singer Phonte and dutch producer Nicolay are The Foreign Exchange, The pair first made contact over message boards on Okayplayer.com and began recording and sending music back and forth thus naming themselves The Foreign Exchange. The album “Connected“, was released in 2004 and it received strong reviews.

This single is from their second album “Leave It All Behind”.”Daykeeper” was nominated for Grammy award in 2009 for Best Urban/Alternative Performance. They should have won it though, this song is amazing and the video added a stunning visual to the lyrics.

Lil B – Base For Your Face ft. Jean Grae & Phonte (prod. 9th wonder)

Lil B is what you might call a controversial rapper, he has over 155 MySpace pages and recorded over 1,500 songs in the year 2010 alone with songs like ; ‘Wonton Soup’, ‘Ellen DeGeneres’, ‘I Cook’ (which he created a dance for), ‘Justin Bieber’ and of course not to forget ‘ Pretty Bitch’ were he calls him self a pretty bitch and a princes. It’s hard to take him serious, especially when the self-proclaimed BasedGod tweeted that he would rape Kanye West if he doesn’t acknowledge him. Strangely enough he got a huge Internet fan base partly thanks to the message-board 4chan. Even stranger is that he even got selected for The 2011  XXL Freshmen class.

So imagine my surprise when I saw Lil B with Phonte, Jean Grae and 9th wonder on the board,  it made me scratch my head for full 5 minutes. But I have to say I really like this song, perhaps there is more to Lil B then what meets the eyes.
